Paintball is a lot like chess in that both require complex strategizing and both are almost impossible to win against autonomous robots. Wage a paint war against sentient beings with today's Groupon: for $13, you get a gold package ($27), coveralls ($3), approximately 300 paintballs, and one day of unlimited play at Utah Xtreme Paintball in Midvale (a $30 value).
Utah Xtreme Paintball has a heated indoor playing field that is set up throughout the week alternatively as a professional tournament field (with white NPPL-approved obstacles), then as a scenario field (with inflatable log cabins, stony hideouts, and Wile E. Coyote's leftover ACME crates). The gold package provides everything beginners and pros alike need to decimate enemies, friends, or coworkers in a splatter of color. You get an "electronic" semi-automatic marker, a paintball hopper (loader), an air tank with free refills, three pods of paintballs (approximately 300), and a splatter-blocking facemask. A pair of coveralls is included to prevent unplanned wardrobe changes. All games are referee-supervised, so cheating and tax evasions are kept to a minimum. You can play as many games as you wish, so the dream of crawling on your belly over rocks and dashing between bunkers with the whiz of small paint-filled capsules humming past your ears need never end. Parents and adoring fans can watch the action unfold from flat-screen TVs in Utah Xtreme Paintball’s comfy waiting area. Refueling refreshments and extra ammo are also available for purchase.
Players must be at least 9 years of age. All players must sign a waver, and players under 18 need a parent or guardian's signature.
- Their field looked pretty cool, like an indoor mock woodsball field, with blown up bunkers shaped like cabins and castles and barrels and crates scattered about. Pretty decent size field, not huge.

- I went to Utah Xtreme Paintball the other day and had a blast. Their indoor field is awesome. The game was intense the environment was cool. – Preston, Google Maps
Utah Xtreme Paintball
With the natural ease of a caterpillar transforming into a different species of caterpillar, Utah Xtreme Paintball changes its sprawling indoor turf field several times a week. The space may be reconfigured at any time as an NPPL tournament field or a scenario field, complete with sheltering structures such as a brick turret and padded barriers camouflaged as stone walls and wooden crates. In either field configuration, referees watch over players as they vie for victory.
Before players engage each other in the arena, Utah Xtreme Paintball's pro shop outfits them with gear such as semi-automatic markers and tanks of CO2 or compressed air—each of which is regularly checked and maintained. The climate-controlled field allows for year-round play, and a staging area with concessions and flat-screen TVs ensures that any visitors could technically live there for a full year.
