What You'll Get
Searching for tasty vegan cuisine can be a daunting task, as many rookie chefs mistakenly remove flavor, variety, and their contact lenses, in addition to animal products. Discover a bounty of delicious meat- and dairy-free dishes with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of gourmet vegan fare at V-Note.
Founded by the co-owner and creator of Blossom, V-Note serves upscale, animal-caring cuisine in a comfortably sophisticated atmosphere. Early-rising diners can stop by to nosh on favorite brunch flavors, such as French toast with maple syrup and tempeh bacon ($11), paired with a secret-recipe Butterfinger shake ($7). Night owls can awaken their palates with appetizers such as the crispy black-eyed pea cake with yukon gold potatoes and spicy chipotle aioli ($9) before moving to a main course of pistachio- and pepper-dusted tofu, nestled with a roasted-root-vegetable crepe adorned with a decadent lemon truffle emulsion ($20). Appease insistent sweet teeth with a dessert of dark chocolate fondue ($14), served with enough fresh fruit and house-baked cookies for a couple or a newly health-conscious Cookie Monster. Because V-Note's owners understand that hunger, much like an eternally late automaton, has no internal clock, the kitchen is open until 10:30 p.m. Sunday–Wednesday and 11 p.m. Thursday–Saturday.
Handsome polished woods and star-like overhead light form V-Note's elegant and warm interior, summoning eco-friendly foodies to dine cheerfully on the Upper East Side. Snuggle into sumptuous white upholstered couches in the intimate dining room, or lounge at the bar with an organic quaff while listening to live music on Wednesdays and Fridays. Sip a sustainable selection such as the Pacific Redwood Pinot Noir 2009 ($9 per glass, $36 per bottle) to relish notes of raspberry, spice, and Mother Earth's gratitude.
- Vegans who've tired of crunchy clubhouses should appreciate this upscale bistro from Blossom owner Ronen Seri. – Time Out
- The menu contained a number of exciting tofu, seitan, tempeh and veg centered dishes. I tried the smoked tempeh stew--hearty and flavorful (and a decent sized portion). – Sydney B., Yelp, 12/24/10

The owners of Blossom and Cafe Blossom have expanded the vegan-eatin' scene with a vast selection of brunch, lunch, and dinner fare crafted from fresh veggies, soy, seitan, and tofu. V-Note's organic wine bar splashes palates with an array of wines that are either biodynamic or sustainable and organic—each bottle gifting mouths vibrant flavors and tasting notes handwritten by the vines they were plucked from. A dark-wood ceiling outfitted with inset track lighting casts a dim romantic glow above diners nestled into contemporary wood chairs and white booths adorned with patterned pillows. Smooth black walls encase the entire eating space, and a wine rack with x-shaped shelves stands prominently behind the candle-laden wood bar.
