What You'll Get
Wine connoisseurs assert that novice tasters should never pair red wine with fish, white wine with red meat, or excessive wine with jury duty. Lap up today's Groupon in moderate proportions: for $15, you get a winery tour, a tasting, a bottle of 2008 vintage merlot, and a souvenir wine glass at Valenzano Winery. This offer can be redeemed on the following dates: September 1, 4, 8, 22, and 29 and October 6, 13, 20, and 27. Tours are approximately one-hour long and begin at 7 p.m. on Thursdays and 12 p.m. on Sundays. Winery tours take place only during the vineyard's harvesting season in late summer and early fall.
Valenzano Winery ferments Jersey–grown grapes into a selection of finely crafted wines, a process that aficionados can witness firsthand during guided tours. Gaze into the inner workings of grape mining on an educational 45-minute tour and tasting led by a guide familiar with vineyard operations and capable of translating fruit conversations for nongrape speakers. The tour begins outside, with participants tasting fresh vine-fruits before promenading through the facility's production facility to watch the bottling and labeling process. Sip on a wood-housed vino as the tour passes through the barrel room, then enter the Valenzano ballroom to sample ready-for-the-limelight wines paired with light cheeses, breads, and sweet spreads gathered from the estate's naturally occurring peanut-butter mines. Customers walk away from the verdant landscape equipped with a 375-ml bottle of 2008 vintage merlot, a sparkling souvenir wine glass, and a festive grape stem tucked behind each ear.

About Valenzano Winery
When its first location opened in 1996, Valenzano Winery was a modest endeavor, producing about 1,200 gallons that year. But since then, Valenzano has expanded to three vineyard locations and 99,000 gallons of wine per year, each location crafting wine made mostly from grapes grown at southern New Jersey farms. From reds and whites to fruit wines—such as cranberry and blueberry—Valenzano's pours span a wide range of flavors and aromas.
