Written by brothers Frank McCourt (Angela's Ashes) and Malachy McCourt (A Monk Swimming), A Couple of Blaguards is a humorous and moving look into their early lives. Written before either of their first novels were published, the classic storytelling in this two-man play is filled with poignant vignettes and Irish culture. The play follows the young McCourts from their childhood in poverty-stricken Limerick through their journey to Brooklyn, where the young men learned to apply the day-to-day lessons from their hardscrabble past to their new lives. Blaguards is a story of immigration, triumph and brotherly love -- and now you can watch veteran actors Howard Platt (The Bob Newhart Show) and Jarlath Conroy (True Grit) bring it to new life at the Larcom Theatre in Beverly.
The theatre’s balcony is not ADA accessible.
