Before yachts, boaters were forced to row themselves upstream, sleep in confined canoe beds, and drink martinis out of hollowed-out pine cones. Cruise more comfortably with today's Groupon: for $799, you get a one-year membership (a $1,500 value) to Vantage Yacht Club and a private three-hour city cruise on a new yacht (an $1,800 value, for a $3,300 total value). Click here for available cruise dates and times.
Furnished with a fleet of sleek Sea Ray yachts, Vantage Yacht Club grants boaters the materials and benefits of yacht use without the responsibilities of ownership. A one-year Blue membership affords aspiring amphibians exclusive use of the Sea Ray fleet, VIP access to discounted dining at local restaurants, the ability to book suites at the United Center and U.S. Cellular Field, and tell-all interviews with Captain Nemo.
On a three-hour city cruise, newly inducted members may invite as many as eight friends or one boat-broken octopus to enjoy the sights and waterways of the Windy City. One of the club's more than 50 U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captains, along with a 340 Sea Ray Sundancer yacht, will await your arrival at Japonais, Bridge House Tavern, House of Blues, or any docks along the Chicago River. From there, they will guide guests on a relaxing tour of the winding river, making sure to point out important sites and interesting land-people along the way. Guests may cancel their cruise but may acquire up to a $799 cancellation fee.
