For $25, today’s deal gets you two adult tickets and two audio tours to the Vatican Splendors exhibit (a $50 value) at the Museum of Art–Fort Lauderdale. This Groupon may be used for children (6-12) and senior (62+) tickets, though the value for those are less than adult tickets.
Running until April 24, the Museum of Art–Fort Lauderdale will host Vatican Splendors: A Journey Through Faith and Art, featuring a mammoth array of Catholic relics. With 200 works of Vatican art and collectibles to view, the relics range from first-century finds to notable present-day future artifacts. Visitors can don complimentary headphones and follow the audio tour through 10 galleries organized chronologically, from Saint Peter through the current pope, Benedict the XVI. You'll ogle original Michelangelo works, bone fragments of saints Peter and Paul, the papal throne, and personal accoutrements of Pope John Paul II, such as a bronze cast of his hands and a plastic cast of the Game Boy with which he exercised his nimble thumbs. Fort Lauderdale is the last stop on the exhibit's three-city American tour, after which these historical relics will return to the Vatican, where a professional Papal staff will scrub and restore them to their pre-American splendor.
Vatican Splendors audio tours run every half hour until one hour before the museum closes. Though the Vatican Splendors exhibit runs until April 24, this Groupon is valid only until March 11, 2011.
