What You'll Get
Riding the waves gives humans a feeling of connection with the water, similar to the way skateboarding across a theater stage makes one feel like part of the cast. Soak in the love with today's Groupon to VB Surf Sessions in Virginia Beach. Choose between the following options:
- For $39, you get a stand up paddleboarding group lesson and a two-hour guided tour for one (an $80 value).
- For $149, you get a stand up paddleboarding group lesson and a two-hour guided tour for four (a $320 value).
VB Surf Sessions' professional senseis instruct apprentice boarders in the ways of the wave and the mind of the surf while wading in the waters. The knowledgeable staff guides groups of up to 10 students in a 20-minute orientation to ensure that first-timers don't make common mistakes such as paddling too close to the sun before safely sending paddlers out onto the water. Tour guides then depart with boarders for a two-hour glide over the waves in Rudee Inlet, recommending locations for smooth sailing and aiding in nautical sightseeing. As wave-riders paddle their way with peers, they work core muscle groups, honing their skills for future boxing matches with the ocean.

About VB Surf Sessions
All year long the crashing sounds of waves beckon VB Surf Sessions' staff to the water, where they teach students to paddle and shred across the ocean. The CPR-certified instructors maintain a ratio of one teacher to every four students during their surf lessons, allowing them to steady the wobbly legs of pupils as they conquer Virginia Beach, where kayakers can see dolphins propelling through the ocean water. For less intense excursions, groups dip their paddles into the wave-free waters of nearby inlets and human-sized fishbowls during standup-paddleboard lessons and tours. Kayak lessons are also offered to learn the proper mechanics and techniques for paddling. Or explore Rudee Inlet on a tandem kayak tour.
