I've never done a yoga or pilates class before yet in a 95 degree room, can beginners do this or do you recommend a regular yoga class first to learn the positions?

They have classes at several different temperatures so that everyone can find a class that works for them. The names Venus, Earth and Mars are metaphors for room temperature. The Venus class is 105 F, Earth classes are 100 F, Mars, Yin (yoga) and Hot Pilates are 95 F. Ashtonga (yoga), Spin, Kettlebells and Zumba are at about 75 F. All classes except Ashtonga are appropriate for beginners, except some people will have a hard time with the Venus 105 F classes. The hotter classes have less complicated postures and flows but the heat will make them too challenging for some. So choose a cooler class be careful to do what you can, and, if you choose, work your way up to the hotter classes. The hotter classes have great benefits: detox, pain reduction, looser joints and muscles. So if you can tolerate the heat its worth a try.
