Nurse Beth, who provided the sclerotherapy, was great! I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the front desk person wasn’t wearing a mask and asked personal questions aloud while in the waiting room (height and weight) which I thought was unprofessional. The appt also didn’t start until at least 30 minutes after the appt time.

I was not sure what to expect but it turned out to be a plesant experiance. I was checked in quickly by Paula. The enviornment was clean. I was given the ultrasound as a safety check. I was then treated by Selena (?) who was very knowledgable and a good conversationalist. The one hour appointment went by quickly. Each treatment includes 3 syringes of medicine which for me was ample.

scheduling was easy given they are only taking Wednesday and Thursday appointments at the time being. Everything was very clean and they took all precautions. My vein tech "Dana" was very thorough, pleasant, and tried to get all my veins done in this one visit. I definately will go back for touch ups.

About Vein Specialists of Illinois

No two patients are exactly the same. So when treating issues such as varicose or spider veins, the professionals at Vein Specialists of Illinois want to make sure patients get the treatment that's right for them. To do this, they use a full consultation and diagnostic ultrasound to evaluate vein function, then typically recommend one of four treatment paths:

Compression therapy: Prescription-strength compression stockings may help flush fluid and reduce swelling in the legs, and are often used to prevent problems before they start.

Endovenous laser ablation: Performed under local anesthetic, this procedure uses laser light to seal up problem veins so they may be absorbed back into the body naturally.

Sclerotherapy: For this treatment, which is most effective on spider veins, a special solution is injected into the vein, forcing it to close and eventually become reabsorbed into the body.

Lifestyle changes: For some patients with a family history of vein disease, small lifestyle changes, such as exercising and not sitting with legs crossed, can decrease risk for problem veins, and the staff can help patients assess what, if any, changes they should be making.
