Vermont Burlesque Festival
Vermont Burlesque Festival’s purpose is to celebrate the local burlesque community and talent from around the world, along with the concepts of body positivity and gender equality. The event overall features performances from dozens of burlesque artists, musicians, and comedians, and has been nominated four times as “Best Live Arts Event in Vermont” granted by the readers of the Seven Days newspaper. Another goal of Vermont Burlesque Festival is to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research in the state of Vermont, as well as to support the health and wellness program at the Pride Center of Vermont. Beverage tastings, themed dress codes, classes, art displays, food tastings, and after parties can also be expected by those who attend. The Vermont Burlesque Festival is an annual event that typically takes place during Vermont’s coldest month, on the third full weekend in January, and has also been dubbed “The Vermont Burrrrlesque Festival.”
