Art helps people reach a wide audience without shouting from the top of radio towers, provocatively dancing behind a local TV field reporter, or tying speech bubbles to migrating birds. Express yourself with this Groupon.
Choose from Three Options
- $69 for a Melding with Welding beginner welding class (a $300 value)

Each four- to five-hour metal-manipulating class, which includes all necessary materials, begins with a lecture on the history, innovations, and artistic techniques of the chosen medium. Afterward, six–eight students follow along as an instructor demonstrates their chosen technique. During Melding with Welding classes, students learn how to weld a flint-and-bone sculpture to a stainless-steel stand using tungsten inert gas. Metal molders bend steel into the form of an abstract humanoid in the style of Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti during Pinching Giacometti classes. And in Torching a Motherwell, students torch an aluminum plate to look like a Robert Motherwell painting. After an end-of-class critique, students return home with their creations in tow.
The encouraging instructors and professors at Vesper, an Atelier of Fine Arts, sharpen students’ understanding of design and bolster their respect for ecological balance. With a two-year curriculum, the school's diploma program in ecological sculpture guides participants through such disciplines as interior design, landscape design, construction management, and public-installation art. The school also hosts classes for the community, encouraging people to explore various forms of sculpture using metal, stone and wood.
