Next, we will be heading down the beautiful Seward highway which is designated a Scenic Byway by the USDA Forest Service, an Alaska Scenic Byway, and an All-American Road. Here we will be on the lookout for Beluga whales, Dall Sheep in the Chugach mountains, bald eagles soaring above as well as the occasional moose and possibly a black bear! Across the water you will also view the Kenai mountain range, and on clear days you can also see The Alaskan Mountain range! The Seward highway, which runs south from Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula, hugs the Turnagain Arm for the first 40 miles.

Whittier, Alaska is a small historic town with a big impact on Alaska. Now the primary port of call for Anchorage the majority of cruise passengers flying into or out of Anchorage will pass, however briefly, through Whittier. To gain access to Whittier guests will go in and out of the Anton Anderson Tunnel, a 2.7 mile bi-modal bi-directional tunnel which cars share with the railroad. Whittier is also home to a small but informative museum, a beautiful park which opens up to Prince William Sound and often home to bears and an assortment of other wildlife!
