The insect section alone is well worth the ticket price. I wasn't expecting much, just dioramas and moths pinned to boards, but this blew me away. There are alive-and-well leaf-cutter ants in a stunning exhibit that has an overhead tunnel, see-through habitat orbs, and up-close windows where you can see them at work on the plants in the enclosure. I was not expecting any live insects to be on display at all, and the ants are not even the only live species on view in this exhibit. It was such a pleasant surprise! The museum is huge and full of very cool things - the gems and minerals area was absolutely worth seeing as well. My only complaint about this place was that it was so, so easy to get lost - the place is like a maze. Definitely grab a map!

I was underwhelmed and honestly disappointed with this museum. A lot of the items inside are replicas and items made to resemble the true ones. There's a lot of taxidermy animals which are very realistic looking. It looks nothing like the Night at the Museum film.

Went as we had a go city pass. You get hey to choose one ticketed attraction with this type of ticket. But disappointed, nice to see it from the movie, but very outdated. I felt like I was in a room with taxidermy animals. Nothing special, but a classic feel. Not bad, just not what I expected. Fun for kids I guess.

Absolutely amazing. You need the whole day to truly take in every exhibit. We got there right after opening so we didn't have to wait in the rain outside in a line like so many after us. Since we are NY residents, admission was more of a donation (pay what you like I think they said it's called). The downfall is that the food court/restaurant was far from ideal and the kids wanted to leave simply because they were hungry and thirsty and didn't want to wait in long lines for a drink or snack (you're not allowed to bring in outside drinks or snacks fyi as I saw people try). We ended up leaving early because of this, which was a bummer for those of us in our party that could go the whole day without eating lol

We are in New York celebrating our retirement. We learned so much history in the museum. We did a tour with one of their tour guides and it’s so big it probably take you like half a day, but it was fun and exciting.
