Absolutely amazing. You need the whole day to truly take in every exhibit. We got there right after opening so we didn't have to wait in the rain outside in a line like so many after us. Since we are NY residents, admission was more of a donation (pay what you like I think they said it's called). The downfall is that the food court/restaurant was far from ideal and the kids wanted to leave simply because they were hungry and thirsty and didn't want to wait in long lines for a drink or snack (you're not allowed to bring in outside drinks or snacks fyi as I saw people try). We ended up leaving early because of this, which was a bummer for those of us in our party that could go the whole day without eating lol

We are in New York celebrating our retirement. We learned so much history in the museum. We did a tour with one of their tour guides and it’s so big it probably take you like half a day, but it was fun and exciting.

I have been coming to The American Museum of Natural History since I was four and it had not really changed much over the years. I had wanted to see the Origami tree which I had not seen in years, which is a fun thing to see during the holiday. The colorful paper animals and figures are always so creative and interesting. I like to see what the tree is constructed from what birds and animals. Once I saw the tree, I walked around the Pre-Columbian galleries and admired the art I have seen for years. I swear these galleries have not changed in thirty years. Then I toured the Dinosaur wing and it was packed with people trying to Instagram this place to death. I was able to visit all parts of the galleries. It was really interesting to see the T. rex again and they have made changes to reflect new research on beings. I got to walk through their gift shop which I think is one of the best in the City. Still I wish they would update more of the museum.

Good experience. We really liked all of the animals. Especially the African ones. The dinosaur bones on the fourth floor were the best. They really have a lot of great fossils. My only complaint is the food. The food court was horrible. I wouldn’t recommend eating there.
