Depending on the time of year, we see moose, sheep, whale, goats, wolves, bear and more. While animals are never guaranteed, it is your best chance to see wildlife in Anchorage and the time of day ensures the best possible views of our city. This tour is the same price for a private or group tour.

Excellent vantage point high up in mountains for sunset that took place close to 11:00 PM in May 18.
Sean, our driver, was polite, accommodating and upbeat.
Regarding animal sightings:
A few moose, including one alongside the road that eventually crossed it
Several mountain goats that were too far away to clearly see
Either a wolf or coyote
Most of these were initially sighted by my girlfriend but Sean knew the places to do.
No bird sightings or whales. As such, somewhat disappointing but it is not Disney so nothing is guaranteed.
Major disappointment was that the vehicle was a wreck - dirty windows, trash on floor, missing seat-belts on some seats, rear passenger door could not be opened from the outside as missing handle, and driver mirror smashed. No excuse for using a vehicle like this. Operator (not driver) said some vehicles were in for repair but this is no excuse for a dirty vehicle which can always be cleaned.
Bring your own binoculars as the one in the van was a $5 special from 5-below.
All in all - think twice about spending this much money on this experience.

Like most tours you will receive information about the area, as well as seeing some beautiful sights.
Where this tour felt different to me was with the personable tour guide. Russ went above and beyond to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible.
Russ shared information about the big earthquakes that changed Anchorage, along with some other interesting Alaskan history. It was great to hear history and facts blended with some personal history.
When choosing a tour, ask yourself -
Who would you rather get a tour from?
-Your down-to-earth, extraordinary uncle that knows a bunch of random stuff and will adjust the tour to accommodate?
-or
- An amiable robot that offers rigid facts and statistics and sticks to a program like glue?
If you’d be more comfortable lounging around a campfire in cozy pajamas listening to stories, go with Russ on this tour.
If you prefer an evening wearing Dior and sipping Macallan 1926 by the light of luxury candles, go find another tour - you’d hate this.
DISCLAIMER: No tour that I know of offers High End Whiskey or Dior loungewear, nor was there any talk of pajamas or campfires.

Taken to the best spots to see the sunset, photography tips, excellent information on history and Anchorage today, many wildlife sightings, and opportunities to learn about Alaska. Excellent guide. Comfortable experience.
