We booked the sunset boat tour about two weeks before we wwent to Chincoteague to stay ...and we were so glad we did. We went out at 6:00 and spotted a seal, which the boat captain said was a rare sighting. We also saw great blue herons, brown pelicans, the largest gull species black backed gulls, cormorants, terns, etc.....very fun. Oh and lots of ponies down at the edge of the water as well. It was a really nice trip!

Great place to visit for a laid-back vacation. Stayed at the Refuge Inn, ate at Don's Seafood Restaurant and Famous Pizza. Biked the wildlife refuge and sat on the beach. Highly recommended.

John was a wonderful guide. Boat was clean and safe. He knew a ton about the island, the history and the ecosystem. We saw birds and spent a good amount of time up close and personal with dolphins. Gorgeous sunset views! Highly recommend!

The tour was really exciting ! Captain John was very knowledgeable, with a very cool personality . He took us to many sights close up and explained all the interesting features from where the ponies are, where the pony swim and auction take place, the oyster beds, where the bay meets open water, the lighthouse, Barrier Island with the birds, Mariners' Memorial Cross, and sunset views in stages all along the way. We took so many beautiful scenic photos to enjoy for a lifetime.
