Our guide had a total pulse on the local music scene, and driver made the ride fun as well. We learned a lot about the up and coming music scene, as well as historical and cultural aspects of Austin.

With over 250 live music venues, Austin is known as the Live Music Capital of the World! Many of these venues are located outside of downtown and tucked into neighborhoods, so come explore with a true Austin local as we show you some of Austin’s best spots. Have fun jamming out to authentic live music all over the city! Check out live music shows at 3 (three) different venues. Entry fees/cover charges included. All performances and venues are authentically Austin, but will vary in genre, size, style and neighborhood.

Dave was an excellent tour guide curating an excellent experience, sharing knowledge and making sure everyone was enjoying the night. Kelty drove very smoothly and safely---and showed off a little on the two-step dance floor...I had a great time and was able to see 3 very different musical performances in 3 very different venues. While I may not have liked all of the music, I know it was all well-performed/executed and a great introduction to the variety available in the "Live Music Capital of the World." Glad I had a day to explore after the tour as Dave also gave some guidance on a band to catch on my own that turned out pretty amazing and I was also able to check out a venue that we didn't go to during the music crawl. I would highly recommend this tour and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I did 3 tours with Austin Detours: the city tour, the wine shuttle, and the live music bar crawl. I loved all of them and I’d love to do the rest of the tours too! The tour guides were both super friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and well-organized. The tours ran smoothly, stayed on time, and were informative. The guides always stick around afterwards to offer personalized recommendations to each guest, written down so you don’t forget. I’ve been on A LOT of tours and these were some of my favorites - don’t miss anything with Austin Detours!

If you leave Austin and haven't done this tour, you missed out! Seriously, best tour that our girls trips have ever had!! Joey was our tour guide and we loved that he was the perfect mix of social, fun and chill all in one. He picked three incredible venues. First, venue being a "swanky" jazz bar with an amazing band who got our hips moving. The next two stops were what my girlfriends and I now refer to as old school dance halls.. but I don't think that phrase does it justice. They were bars with large dance floors and everyone was out there smiling and two stepping. Locals will ask you to dance! Go for it. It's all very PLATONIC! They will teach you to two step and the more you dance, the more fun you will have. We felt so comfortable after a few dances that we got on the dance floor on our own. We did not want the night to end! Our favorite from that night was tough to choose, but the broken spoke had what seemed to be an equal mix of dancers and those learning which made it easier to get out on the floor. Thank you so much Joey for a tour that made our whole trip!!! We can't stop talking about opening a "dance hall" back in Boston :).
