Sheena our tour guide was fantastic! Her story telling was captivating, exciting and very interesting. Sheena made sure to answer all questions and encouraged questions keeping the group engaged and involved. It was a fun tour. We almost cancelled because it was pouring rain. Shenna made sure when she could to keep the group comfortable and sheltered during the tour.

Enjoy the darker side of Memphis and hear tales of the city's haunted heritage as told by professional storytellers. The city’s South Main Historic District – an eclectic, colorful area with some of the city’s oldest buildings – has a long history of sensational murders and ghostly activity. On this 90-minute outdoor walking tour, you'll visit a number of haunted sites, including: • The Orpheum Theater, home of "Mary," who has haunted performances since 1921 • The John Alexander Austin House, a Victorian era mansion haunted by star-crossed lovers • The notorious Ernestine & Hazel's, a former brothel long recognized as one of the most haunted buildings in Memphis. We'll take you inside this creepy establishment (Wednesday-Sunday ONLY), home to several ghosts as well as a haunted jukebox.

Return Details

  • The tour ends at Earnestine & Hazel's; guests can stay and enjoy a drink and a burger, but are always welcome to join the tour guide in walking back to Beale St.

Fair price, David was very knowledgeable about the subject, as well as the architecture and basic history of the Memphis area.

Sheena was awesome!!!! We loved it!!! It’s done by locals, it’s not a big business thing at all, which is probably the best part!!!! Group was small and it made it even better to hear the stories, histories and sites!!
