The 2018 eruption of Kilauea made international news, the eruption forever changed the Puna landscape and changed the lives of thousands.
Kilauea is the world’s most active volcano and has been doing so since humans arrived in Hawaii.
Eruptions and tsunamis have often changed the landscape of the largest island in Hawaii, known as the Big Island. The last eruption of 2018 destroyed the State’s largest lake, a marine reserve and hot ponds.
This tour takes you through Puna and you learn about the eruption in 1990 that destroyed 173 homes. Tour the majestic and historical Red Road with its old farms and mystical tree canopy. We continue the journey to the see cliffs at McKenzie, then head to the newest black sand beach in the world and see the remains of Pohoiki boat ramp, be up close to brand new lava fields and be able to touch the now solid lava.
Book this private unforgettable, 6-hour, experience and learn about the tumultuous Hawaiian volcano history and see its impact.
