The Best 4 hour inclusive Kanaio Sea Caves and La Perouse Snorkel

This was an awesome trip!! It was one of the most memorable parts of our Maui vacation. We’ve been to Molokini a few times in the past and this was different, and very cool. The ride out to the lava flow is a little hairy (I would not recommend for kids that are nervous or under 12). Once there, the caves were sooooooo cool. Photos don’t do them justice at all… being on the ocean, in a small boat, next to a huge lava flow is something you can’t describe. After the lava we did some incredible snorkeling in crystal clear water at Perouse Bay. The crew was very professional and took great care of the 11 people on our tour. They were funny, knowledgable and attentive. Overall it was a five star experience!

Captain Joe and Austin were amazing! Fun on the waves, we went into a cave, snorkelling in the very deep blue water. Turtles, octopus, barracuda, an aquarium of fish!!!

Beware. This is not a family friendly trip. The conditions off the Kanaio coast get extremely rough, 10ft+ swells closely spaced. We were not warned about this. My 9yo was scared. My 6yo was scared to the point of crying. Go back and read their description of this trip. Does it match what I am typing here... The Captain: Too glib in his brief. He did nothing to prepare us for what we were about to face. His approach boiled down to: "give the punters what they want, and if they didn't know well too bad." Turning up the Black Sabbath up to 11 did nothing to enhance his credibility. The Boat. No PFDs were offered to my children. Punters (half of them) are expected to sit on the sides of the boat. If someone had "bounced out" during that first hour I'm not sure the Cowboy in charge would have had a clue where they were. -Ask anyone that was on the boat on Tues July 8th. They will tell you that bouncing out was a real possibility. My 9yo has blisters on her knuckles from holding on to the rope and rubbing against the inflatable. The Snorkling: The sites chosen were sheltered, a welcome relief from the trip there. The turtle-cleaning station was exceptional. There are their two stars. Summary: I will be contacting the regulatory authorities about this company. The sea is no place for cowboys. especially when young and inexperienced lives are in their charge.

Kanoi & Charlie were so kind and knowledgeable. We had a super fun ride and stunning snorkeling. It felt like a private tour. I loved the small group. Thank you for an incredible experience!

This excursion was beyond our expectations. The staff was organized and friendly. We we swam with turtles and even came across a pod of dolphins. It didn’t feel too touristy with a small number aboard the boat. It all in all was a 10/10 day.
