The experience was excellent! I highly recommend! Our tour guide was not only knowledgeable about all the details of our tour but he facilitated an exceptional experience for the group celebrating a birthday! I highly recommend!

Shining with the tarnished gleam of New York’ Gilded Age the ornate town houses of the Upper East Side stand as a monuments to the moneyed families that played an essential role in the city’s growth. In this Upper East Side Architecture Tour, we will examine highlights from this Victorian era legacy including the Henry Clay Frick mansion, the Metropolitan Museum, the French Consulate, and, of course, Central Park. In addition, our tour will look at modern masterpieces such as the Guggenheim Museum by Frank Lloyd Wright and the former Whitney Museum Marcel Breuer.

Brilliant. Ivan showed us some fantastic buildings including the guggenheim but also lesser well known ones including the first luxury home in NYC. The breadth and depth of coverage was excellent and you feel like you understand new york a lot better afterwords. Highly recommend!

My husband and I did two Build Tours during our recent trip to NYC which were both excellent. We did the Wall Street and Financial District Tour followed by the Upper East Side Tour both which Ivan the founder of the business led himself. To get the most out of this Tour unless you are a local and/or have some knowledge of architectural styles I suggest you do the Wall Street and Financial District Tour first. This having been my 5th visit to the city, the Upper East Side Tour took me to places I hadn’t seen yet and provided some useful history about how the area was developed and why it is what it is today. Definitely recommend.

Starting from the Frick Collection to all the iconic pearls of Upper East Side, Ivan's tour covered a range of Industrial and Gilded Age history. Honoring these historic layers of residential and commercial dynamism was truly special. I really enjoyed our lovely group and getting to uncover the Upper East Side together. Had been many times, but nothing quite like honoring the industrial history together. I really enjoyed the historical preservation insights as well as energy politics/urban planning. Thank you, Ivan!
