Such a Great Experience Surfing with Conner was one of the best parts of our trip to Oahu. He took our two teenage boys out for their first lessons—twice—and was great with them. Patient, easygoing, and made it fun from the start. They were up and riding waves and had a blast. We felt comfortable with Conner right away and fully trusted him. Solid guy, total pro. Teacher is very careful, observant, helpful, and patient. We started with dry exercises on the beach before going into water which was very good to train the basics before trying anything getting into the waves.

Connor was great! It was my first time surfing and I already managed to easily catch my first waves!

The good part was that it turned out to a 1:1 private lesson, I received decent instructions on basics of surfing, and I was able to have fun by surfing several times in a way considered successful to myself as a beginner. I appreciated the efforts made by instructor to help me circle back to catch the wave each time since it did consume a lot of energy. However, the instructor was rude and made me feel humiliated a few times during the lesson. For example, he said “I started to doubt about your IQ” when I couldn’t follow quickly. Definitely not very patient and not that friendly to beginners. Maybe he has some racism since I am a Chinese guy. I doubt he would treat Americans in the same way. The instructor should get better with his attitude and be more professional when guiding beginners.

I can’t say enough good things about our surf instructor, Connor! My sister and I took lessons with him, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped onto the beach, his positive energy and enthusiasm set the tone for an amazing day.
