We had the pleasure of enjoying several outstanding dishes and visiting several restaurants in the downtown area with our amazing guide, Mimi. She was a wealth of knowledge and presented Charleston's history through culinary delights and paid tribute to the all the cultures that contributed to the cuisine in the area. This Downtown Culinary Tour is provided by CHARLESTON CULINARY TOURS, the longest-running food tour company in Charleston. Visit four food establishments on this 2.5-hour tour that combines elements of a historical tour with a culinary adventure! Learn about Charleston's history as you enjoy tastings of traditional favorites and contemporary innovations, all of which highlight the cuisine of locally-owned restaurants. Insight into Lowcountry cuisine accompanies the broad range of samples on your food tour. This is our original tour around the French Quarter and City Market and focuses on the traditional flavors of the region.

As you enjoy walking through this historical section of the city, listen to stories about Charleston's culture and cuisine from your guide, who points out landmarks along your route. Delicious food, more than enough to fill you up. We were stuffed by the end. Our guide was great to both speak about the food, the restaurants, and the history of the area. Lot of fun.

Come hungry. Only 4 stops but plenty to eat. Great little history lesson about Southern cuisine, culture and Charleston from our great guide Georgia.

Very nice tour with a very knowledgeable guide, John. Food portions were perfect and food choices also varied and represented traditional dishes. The only two recommendations I would make would be to have coffee available at the desert stop. The cake was wonderful, but sweet, and a cup of coffee would have been perfection! Also, it would have been nice for participants to receive the names of the restaurants (given to us on paper or small business card) we went to that day so that we could return or visit their website.
