the weather was sunny and cold, but that did not dampen this tour. our guide was energetic, full of lots of information about tea, the Garden's history, and lots of facts on tea plant growth, maintenance and harvesting. we had good time and want to return next time heading south. plus, they have LOTS of beautiful items in their gift shop and free-tasting samples of tea, both hot and cold :-)

The trolley ride takes about 35-40 minutes and you'll get to see our many acres and acres of tea bushes. You'll learn more about tea both from our trolley guide as well as our founder, Bill Hall, who narrates a portion of the tour over the bus sound system. The trolley also makes a stop at the greenhouse where everyone departs the trolley and gets to see up close and personal just what it takes to bring new tea bushes into the world. This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience

W e enjoyed learning about the process on the self guided factory tour. They offer free samples of all their hot and cold teas. We then took the trolley tour learn more about the plants, fields and process of harvesting. These bushes to date can live 600 years as long as they are cared for. Large parking area. Not organic but free of harmful chemicals.

Even though our visit was at the end of November, the Charleston Tea Garden offered a complete tour experience. We took the tour ($18/adult) and our tour guide made it fun as well as very informative. The tour trolley bus had windows that can open or stay closed. I learned so much that I never knew about tea and the growing and processing of tea. The inside factory tour (free self-tour) was ok. But since it was not a processing day, other than the videos, there was only non-moving machinery to see. The gift shop (where they offer free hot and cold tea) had lots of things to buy, including their teas. All-in-all we had a beautiful day and an very interesting time. I would highly recommended going to visit them.
