Fascinating pizza history and knowledge. All incredibly different pizzas, but all delicious. Arrive hungry

This tour is just a short walk through great Chicago neighborhoods starting near Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile, and then heading into the Gold Coast & River North. Compare two American pizzas vs. two Italian pizzas to understand how pizza evolved as an immigrant food. Explore Deep Dish, Roman, Neapolitan, and Artisanal pizza in just a couple of hours. Discuss how each of these styles is crafted and the differences in their ingredients, baking techniques, and ovens. Plenty of pizza to eat, come hungry!

  • We meet inside Robert's Pizza which is located on the Ogden slip dock on the Chicago River in the Streeterville neighborhood. If you do not locate your guide right away, please ask the host at Robert's.

John was excellent and the restaurants were great. John, a self-proclaimed ‘Pizza Nerd’ was a guide with so much knowledge we enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot. Next time in Chicago do this tour. We even got to try a Turkey dinner pizza at Robert’s.

I try to do a food tour in every city I visit and this was one of the best I've done. James was funny, knowledgeable, and super friendly. We are a family of 4, with kids ages 10 and 12 and they had a great time too. Will definitely recommend to friends visiting Chicago!

Took amtrack from Wisconsin. Ended up at union station and hour later. We were able to walk to the willis building which was great but lost of where to go after. Took Uber a couple times which is pricey but it was 100 degrees outside so wish I would have gone when it was cooler
