One of the best snorkeling tours I’ve done in a while. It was a hour ride out to the reef. Afterwards, they provided alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Was a good time. I’ll definitely do it again if I come back to Key West.

This company had us go out on this trip even with a small craft advisory warning. When we arrived there were not enough snorkels and masks for everyone. Crew said it wasn’t their fault. The water was so choppy one had trouble swimming ( and I’m a good swimmer) never did get to see anything and getting back on a boat that is rocking and rolling was so difficult I have bruises on my legs. When I called the company with my complaint I was told I’d get a call back. No one bothered. I’d go with some of the other companies that cancel when the water is not safe!

The trip was canceled supposedly due to high winds. We ended up getting on another catamaran that very same day through a different company out of the exact same marina in Key West. No high wind issue at all. In fact, the new company we went with did not cancel any of their sailing trips on that day. I found it strange how a sailing trip was canceled due to high winds when it actually relies on wind to sail. Don’t book on Tripadvisor.com if you are really committed to the event. I had planned this for 9 people and had to figure out how to work around it. Go with the local companies on the island.

Very windy rough Took 45 minutes to get to reef. Boat pounding up and down. Couldn’t walk around at all couldn’t drink because u couldn’t move or u would fly off boat. Couldn’t snorkel because waves were crashing over the reef

As an adult couple, we enjoyed this trip. If you’re a strong swimmer, have familiarity with snorkeling gear, demonstrate decent confidence in navigating currents/waves, and have figured out how to manage inner-ear motion sickness, you’ll like this experience. The leafy reef plants and fish are cool to see, though sparse. The reviews and description of this trip in no way matched my personal experience. The boat was about 10 snorkel sets shy of being able to provide everyone with a set, and the crew asked for those willing to offer their snorkeling gear to others. The water was very choppy, with no poor weather in sight for days, and on a full boat of 70 guests, maybe 20 total swam out to the reef. This was not family-friendly. Under high-school age should not have been out swimming. The exits and entrances to the boat, for example, were not monitored, and not a single staff member accompanied the swimmers into the water. There is no way the crew could have saved someone struggling in the water way out by the reef. Swimmers were not even close to within earshot. Drowning is typically silent and quick. There was a mom in swimshirt life jacket, for example, who was a strong swimmer and took her toddler down the stairs to the water, and her and several guests struggled to get her daughter back up the stairs when the mom realized how rough the water was and came back up for a better life jacket. The staff didn’t see this happen. It would be helpful to require full life jackets.
