This a fun family activity! Before the covered wagon tour, there are activities for young and old alike. There is water, lemonade, and iced tea available. Bring your our cooler with alcohol drinks if you want. The wagons tour is educational for every age group. You learn about the desert plants, and animals as well as the San Andreas fault. The hike into the palm trees may be difficult for some, but most people will enjoy the history and the environmental information. Back at the ranch, you are entertained by music to sing and dance along with. Dinner is served and keeps everyone in mind. Cole slaw, cowboy beans, beef, chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy. What is not to love? Dessert is apple pie with whipped cream for dessert. But that isn’t it! Soon there is a fire pit to roast marshmallows!

This adventure was a gift to my husband on Christmas and turned out to be a great time last night! The covered wagon ride was fun and very informative about the beautiful desert of the Coachella valley…beautiful scenery during the sunset hours. Bill and his crew were so awesome making our visit fun, delicious and entertaining! The dinner of BBQ Beef, chicken, beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, coleslaw and bread was yummy! Music and dancing really made a fantastic evening! We look forward to doing it again with family and friends!

It is in a beautiful setting in one of the state parks of California. The mule team was very gracious pulling through wagon to a spot where we saw some large palms and learned history of the area. The BBQ was amazing and we would have gone just for that!

WOW! You wouldn't think this would fun. You would think hokey or for kids or whatever. NO WAY! It's amazingly fun and the food is good (not just brisket, they do try tip and steak and chicken and vegetarian and lots of stuff) and they live it up. I am a proud resident of the desert. Covered Wagon Tours just adds to my blissful life here. We were laughing and enjoying it all...even in the lightly drizzling cold rain. It was just so much fun and it is for ALL kids, kids and older folks love it. Love the mule and the volunteers are great. Our host BILL was the most generous gracious host. I would go again! My family loved it. It is pricey but ya know it's worth it. I bet in the warmer months it's even better with a bon fire and stuff. As I said it was rainy when we went but still great time! I just now have to convince the husband to attend, he really would dig it. I am sure I will return. Thanks to all for the best time!

Rain certainly dampened the experience - we didn’t get to do campfire/marshmallows/games. The wagon ride was quite short. The musicians were OK, but the pre-ride entertainment was super cheesy. The family enjoyed the food. Everyone was friendly. Would not choose to do it again.
