Stop At: PaiaPaia, HawaiiNo trip to Maui is complete without a trip to Paia, Maui’s coolest little town. A paved walkway measuring 0.6 miles runs through the arboretum, showcasing a diverse array of timber, fruit, and ornamental trees from different tropical regions of the world, many of which are labeled with nameplates. With over 150 types of tropical plants, including taro, the arboretum is an excellent spot to observe native flowers and marvel at the vibrant bark of rainbow eucalyptus trees.Duration: 45 minutesStop At: Ke‘anae PointHawaiiAs a visitor to the area, you'll be awestruck by the majestic Ke'anae Peninsula. This impressive finger of newer lava stretches out from the Hana Highway's cliff line for half a mile. Even before reaching the turnout, you'll catch glimpses of this scenic wonder from various lookouts along the way. Ke'anae is a historically significant village that has been cultivating taro for centuries, and today, much of the land is still used for taro lo'i farming. It's remarkable to think that the soil was brought down here basket by basket, but it's true since the area is made up of young lava rock that was created quite recently (in geological terms) during a massive flow from Haleakala.Duration: 30 minutesStop At: Pua'a Ka'a State ParkHana Highway, , HawaiiPua'a Ka'a State Wayside is a charming and lush stop along the Road to Hana on the island of Maui, Hawaii. The high mineral content of the black sand also gives it a subtle sparkle, making it a breathtaking sight. Donovan was incredible! He went out of his way to customize the day, hit everyone’s highlights/requests, and teach us about the islands! He also showed us some amazing local spots and gems! HIGHLY recommend!

We had a great trip with our guide Spencer. We took the "back road" into Hana and saw the beautiful seascape along the coast. He directed us to a great spot for lunch, and aligned our trip to work for 3 generations of family all touring together. Everyone had a great day and felt safe and fortunate that he was driving. He took all our requests into mind as we traveled all day to and from Hana. Thank you Spencer for a memorable and educational day!

For the most magical day you’ll ever have in Maui (or maybe anywhere else in the world), look no further than the VIP Road to Hana Tour with the Volcano Sunset. Our day was just spectacular. First, we saw sea turtles on the beach at Ho’okipa Beach Park. Then, we stood on the dramatic black sands of Waianapanapa followed by a swim in a lagoon beneath a waterfall. On the road to Hāna, we ate in fresh fish, drank from freshly cracked coconuts, and slurped passion fruit at local stops. Have you ever seen a rainbow eucalyptus tree? We hadn’t. We took a selfie. We also got to meet Nelly the pig, known as the Queen of Hana. She trotted over for pets and sipped from a coconut. Our penultimate stop was on the red sand beach to play in the waves, and the landscapes were otherworldly. Just when we thought it couldn’t get better, we watched the sun sink into the horizon from 5,000 feet atop Haleakalā. David, our guide, was knowledgeable, fun, and deeply passionate about Maui. 10/10 doesn’t even begin to cover it, because this wasn’t a tour. It was an experience of a lifetime. Don’t question the price. Just do it.
