What a fabulous mixture of history, culture and food. Jose was fantastic and able to layer his personal history. This was one of the highlights to our trip to Santa Fe.

Jose was a wonderful guide with a true passion for all things New Mexico! This tour was a great way to see, taste, and experience the history and beauty of Santa Fe.

Jose is a good story teller, who knows a lot about Santa Fe history, food history, and culture, so he talked about these almost non-stop. The result: a lot of listening, and a lot to learn about Santa Fe culture. Jose excels in this category! However, since this was a food tasting tour, we were disappointed in the restaurants and food choices. I noticed that all eleven people in our tour seemed to be as non-plussed as I was. I finally figured out that when he said, "This is how my grandmother would make it, he meant just that. Apparently, she made rather plain tacos with very little embellishment beyond the green chile sauce." I get it-simple foods. Yet, I was expecting something a little more complex. The next restaurant was about average and the last restaurant offered . . . a hamburger topped with a chopped green chili & fries! Seriously? I see that Jose gets mostly 5-star reviews, and I am bewildered by this. After the tour, we found restaurants that served local foods like delicious pozoles and green chile stews. In Summary: If you are NOT serious about exploring great tasting Santa Fe foods, and if you secretly wanted a hamburger instead, this is the tour for you.

Great way to experience downtown Santa Fe. Jose was very engaging and knowledgeable. I would recommend taking this tour at the start of your trip so that you have time to go back and explore more on your own. This was a great way to get introduced to the great food and culture.
