Our guide, Joe, was a delightful combination of historian, foodie, actor and NYC native who enjoyed showing us the delights of the Chelsea Market. He had lots of interesting anecdotes and backstories to share about the building, past and present uses, and about the vendors we visited. During our tour, we enjoyed a delicious biscuit and 2 jams, a zucchini frittata, handmade hot dog, cheese/fig, handmade choclate, Asian fusion taco and delicious crispy crust NY pizza. Then Joe took us for a walk along the High Line, telling its history and current efforts to maintain and protect the oasis in the lower Manhattan. Finally, we returned to the market for a delicious scoop of gelato. Plenty of food on the tour, something for everyone’s tastes. (And vegetarian group members who had informed the tour co were seamlessly accommodated as needed)

The tour was great! Joe was our guide and he was awesome. It was a tour where we learned about the history of Chelsea Market, the meat packing district, each place we ate and all the different food. Great food, unrushed, very enjoyable!
