The park opened along Route 66 in 1958 and started out as Boomtown, a replica of an Oklahoma pioneer town. Over the years, the park has flourished into what it is today, Frontier City, located along what is now Interstate 35.
Frontier City offers fun for all ages. The thrill-seekers can experience a million dollar water ride that was just added in 2017 known as the Gully Washer; The Gunslinger, a 60-foot-tall spinning thrill ride; and the Brain Drain, a seven story looping coaster. The park features many more rides including a carousel, a Ferris wheel, a train ride, a sidewinder, and a swinging pirate ship.
Other than rides, Frontier City also has various shows and concerts, Wild West Water Works in the summer, FrightFest around Halloween, and A Frontier Christmas in November and December. There are also additional paid attractions on site like the Geronimo Skyscraper and Thunder Road Raceway.
