We had such a great day! Wasn’t sure what to expect as we’d been on two other types of tours. However, the freedom to choose stops on your tour & routes that really interest you made the experience stand out. We would definitely go again. Our day was rainy but the car was warm & cozy. We found new spots we’d like to explore further. The staff were a pleasure to work with. Definitely plan to go again and again as well as recommend to friends & family!

We hired the GoCar Zero Max & it was fantastic! Very easy to drive and follow the talking Sat Nav. Lots of opportunities to stop to take photos. We had it from 10-1 on an early bird offer. 3 hours wasn’t enough and kept it for an extra hour, even then another hour would’ve been better. We usually do an open top bus tour, we done one in Italy last year and it was awful so wanted a different way to see the city. GoCar was great, went to places that an open top bus doesn’t go, better tourist information given and no hanging about waiting for another bus to come along. I’d really recommend this and will do again in other locations I visit in the future.

We didn’t have a lot of time in San Francisco so the early bird 3 hour tour was a great way to get out & see a LOT of sights while having fun! I would do it again if we had more time, so we could make more stops at the shops & restaurants along the way. Tip: if you are tall or overweight I’d recommend the electric car (zeromax). I’m 6’4” and the classic Go Car was cramped but not horrible. And if you are very overweight this car isn’t for you.

I don't think we stopped laughing/smiling the entire time. We had so much fun. The tour was easy to navigate and the go-carts were so fun. They even had Mariokart costumes for us to use.

We’d been planning a San Francisco trip for awhile and I was all over TripAdvisor looking for ideas and reviews. I came across this GoCar thing and thought it looked like a fun way to see the city. Yes!! So glad we did this. We did an early bird (3 hours for the price of 2 hours) tour and I’d really recommend going this route. In hindsight I spent a lot of time mulling over which tour to take…honestly just pick how long you want to be in the car - 3 hours worked well for us; got to see a lot and didn’t feel too rushed - unless there’s a specific site that you feel you HAVE to see from this tour. You can always go to more places, but 3hr was a nice tour around major city landmarks. Fisherman’s Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, Presidio, Land’s End, Golden Gate Park, Haight Asbury, Lombard Street, Coit Tower. You have a bit of time to get out and take pictures if you want, or time to take optional detours. Ultimately they charge you (I think $1/minute?) overtime if you return the car past 3 hours, so keep track of your time. We felt like the car was very easy to drive. There’s nothing to do with your feet, just hand breaks and a throttle to go forward (turning more to go faster, less to go slower). It doesn’t reverse (or have any other gears); to reverse you’d get out and manually push the car back, as you would a car in neutral. We only did this once to get out of a parking space. ALSO - we are from Central Florida and we had heard San Francisco was cold in July but we were like…ummmm okay sure. YES IT IS. On the day of our tour (9am-noon, foggy but no rain or anything) I wore a long sleeve shirt, zip up sweater, rainjacket, AND we had to buy gloves and a scarf in a gift shop! I would absolutely recommend to bring gloves if you get cold hands, and even a neck gaiter or something. My whole face was red in the cold wind as we rode around. Last of my recommendations - I’d suggest riding two to a car instead of having your own, so that one of you can navigate. The screen is hard to read in the sun and you might have difficulty if you’re doing it on your own. Do this tour! We’ve already recommended it to others.
