This sunset tour begins outside the Grand Canyon National Park and enters via the Kaibab Forest (where we sometimes drove uncomfortably at speed around turns and through puddles). If you would prefer to skip the forest and head straight to the canyon overlooks this may not be the tour for you. Eventually we entered the Grand Canyon National Park and saw some of the Village where the hotels are before heading to three scenic points including Grandview. Although it was a cloudy evening with no sunset we did have magnificent views. That said, we also saw beautiful scenery on the park's free Hermits Rest shuttle on our own before the tour. Our guide Mark made the trip special for a guest celebrating a birthday by having everyone sing her Happy Birthday. And he was very patient with our tardiness for the departure, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, I felt like the tour was a bit 'scripted' at times and would have appreciated more time in the Grand Canyon than in the Kaibab forest.

3 adults, 2-16 yr olds and 9 yr old. Grandkids were visiting, youngest was learning about Grand Canyon at school in KC. Werner was our guide and he lives near and off the grid so he could certainly explain and respect the Grand Canyon National Park and he was very knowledgeable about facts, history, and our Eco system. It had rained the 5 previous days, but he was prepared with blankets and was willing to make this a perfect experience. Grandkids: said he did an amazing job and gave us interesting facts and he was a funny guy. He was patient and understanding when someone wanted to take pictures. Youngest said she liked that he told us what everything was named and where to look. Adults—we had a great time, we all learned a lot and found the tour very interesting. When 3 kids can spend 3 hours and be entertained and happy-woohoo!! Thank you Werner.

We were lucky to get the General Manager Colleen as our tour guide as her staff were out hunting. Entrance to the park was free due to the shutdown. She's a botanist, zoologist, geologist and historian, rolled into one. We learnt a lot about the flora and fauna, holy hindu trinity representation, DUDE method of Grand Canyon formation and the tribes that inhabit the reservation. To cap it, we ended the tour with sunset at Grandview Point on the South Rim.
