“Hop on Hop Off Waterfall Trolley” is a delightful way to experience Multnomah Falls. We didn’t have to worry about parking at the falls, themselves, which can fill up. Basically, you park at a designated area, take a designated bus to Multnomah Falls main area and transfer to the trolley service. We did two different hikes at different stops and rode the trolley circle between them, for a scenic break. Hop on hop off day pass holders get priority for Trolley rides in the park. Apparently, there is an option to do a between-falls ticket; however, you are not guaranteed a trolley spot . We went on a Sunday; one family and one couple were not able to get on at certain stops. Trolley’s run each hour; it would be a wait for the next one. We were extra glad our day pass guaranteed our spot. Multnomah Falls is a beautiful area and this way to see it is well worth your time and dime. Do note, there is tip jar for trolley drivers, who share some info about the falls. There was not a tip jar for the bus driver (he was super sweet and might deserve a tip jar). As far as timing, we took an 11am bus out and caught the 4:30pm bus back to the parking lot. It felt like a full-enough day, with some decent hiking, in a very beautiful place. The last bus to the parking lot is 5:30pm. *highly recommend*
