My sisters, niece and I took the tour with Tim last week, and it was our favorite tour by far! Tim was awesome--he knew so much about Bonaventure and Wormsloe and made it a very enjoyable and educational day! He picked us up at the hotel, and being a seriously hot day, he had a cooler stocked with waters for everyone and also shared bug repellent as it can be a bit of chew-fest outside in June. We stopped for lunch at a little place named Erica Davis Lowcountry for delicious brisket and fried green tomato BLT sandwiches. I bought a container of their low country spice (they have a little section of goods in the front) as its really good on just about anything! The final stop was Byrd Cookies! This was their main office and store. You can sample every cookie there and we all left with bags of goodies! Tim recommended the oatmeal cookies and pointed out that the Pink Lemonade Coolers were only baked during the summer, so if we were going to get them, now would be the time....and they were really good, so I bought a bag! Again, Tim made this tour the best with his easy friendliness and knowledge, and we had a great time. I can't recommend this tour enough. Bonaventure is a beautiful cemetery and the oak lined drive up to the ruins of Wormsloe is probably one of the most stunning pictures you will have the opportunity to snap. You can't beat this tour. It's one of the best...and thank you Tim!

Your day begins with a walking tour of Bonaventure Cemetery to learn about the lives of notable inhabitants like Academy Award-winning songwriter Johnny Mercer, Georgia’s first governor Edward Telfair, philanthropist Mary Telfair, as well as the tragic tales of poet Conrad Aiken and Gracie Watson. The Cemetery walking tour meanders under moss draped oaks and along the bluff of the Wilmington River. Bonaventure Cemetery, dating back to 1846, is one of the most beautiful cemeteries. Following the cemetery tour, you will have lunch on your own at one of our favorite local restaurants. After lunch, your visit to Wormsloe includes a breathtaking drive down the famous live oak tree lined drive. You will take a short walk to see the Plantation Tabby Ruins that date to the 18th Century and visit the museum of the Georgia State Park Historic Site. Finally, a stop is scheduled at the Famous Savannah Byrd Cookie Company headquarters for shopping and tastings of Byrd’s Famous Cookies.
