Our tours leave from Red Lodge, Montana via the famous Beartooth Pass. At 10,947', the Beartooth Highway is the closest entrance to Yellowstone's famous Lamar Valley and only accessible from Red Lodge Montana. The Beartooth All-American Road, is also referred to as “the most beautiful drive in America”, by late broadcasting legend Charles Kuralt. We'll stop here for snacks and/or breakfast (on you) and give you a half hour or so to wander around town.

Lamar Valley is often called "America’s Serengeti" for its large and easy-to-see populations of large animals. We plan our Yellowstone tours to be here in the morning and evening - when the animals are active. Among Lamar Valley's most famous inhabitants are the Junction Butte and Lamar Canyon wolf packs. Other animals roaming the Lamar Valley include large herds of bison, pronghorn, badgers, grizzly bears, bald eagles, osprey, deer, and coyotes.

Stop At: Tower Fall, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

When William Henry Jackson and artist Thomas Moran shared their photographs and paintings with Congress of Tower Fall, among others, and they caused quite a stir.
The beauty of the landscape led Congress to create Yellowstone National Park, the country's and world's first national park, in 1872. Tower fall plunges a stunning 132 feet with unusual rock columns north that were created by lava flow that cracked as it cooled.

Roosevelt Lodge Historic District which includes 130 buildings and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The Lodge was completed in 1920. The Upper Falls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is neither as tall nor as popular as Lower Falls, but the 109' waterfall certainly merits a visit, as it is impressive in its own right. This falls was called the “upper falls” for the first time by members of the 1869 Folsom party who estimated its height at 115 feet.
Visitors to the Brink of the Upper Falls have throughout time found the power of the experience worthy of detailed description.

Stop At: Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Mammoth Hot Springs are a must-see feature of Yellowstone mainly because they’re so different from other thermal areas in the park. This is largely because limestone is a relatively soft type of rock, allowing the travertine formations to grow much faster than other formations.

Stop At: Blacktail Plateau Drive, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

This is a beautiful, scenic, 6 mile one-way dirt road that takes us back into the woods and meadows of Blacktail Deer Plateau. We'll leave the paved road and the traffic and experience the solitude of the Yellowstone wilderness.
