We did a snorkeling tour with Kaimana Tours earlier today. The tour itself, our tour guide and the ocean experience were great, and we appreciate the effort of the guide very much. However, we were disappointed with how an equipment issue was handled. One of the full-face snorkel masks we rented (paid $25) did not seal or function properly from the start. We tried adjusting it for nearly an hour before I ended up switching masks with my wife so we could continue the snorkeling. When we returned the equipment, we informed the guide about the issue and later contacted the company to request a refund for that rental snorkeling mask only. We were told that because we did not contact them during the tour, no refund would be provided. We understand their policy about notifying them immediately. However, from our perspective, the mask never worked properly from the beginning, and it was disappointing that there was no acknowledgment or ownership of the inconvenience — especially since rental equipment should be fully functional when issued. What made the experience more frustrating was the implication that the issue may have been caused by us ! That was not the case. The mask did not work from the start. Very disappointing customer service ! We believe customer service is not just about policy, but about how concerns are handled. While the snorkeling location was wonderful, the handling of this situation left us disappointed. For future guests: if you experience any equipment issue, be sure to contact them immediately during the tour, otherwise you will not be eligible for a refund. In fact they will tell you it’s your fault !

Our experience was poor due to poor weather. I normally wouldn’t hold this against the vendor but I did everything I could to inquire about cancellation due to weather, prior to the day and first thing the morning of. They assured us everything is open, so no money back since they would not cancel the day. I would have forfeited money if I canceled. The island ended up being under a severe weather alert that day and the next. We left the bay early due to high winds and rain. I reached out for a partial refund and got no response. Highly disappointed. Cost my young family, party of 4, over $300 for a 45 min snorkel experience that ended terribly.
