Great hikes that can feel a bit challenging to the inexperienced as it is has quite steep passages. You can check the details of the topography of the trails on AllTrails app. The journey starts early with a pickup from Waikiki to Diamond Head. The hikes takes around 1h30 to do (plenty of time to take pictures). Then the group is brought back to Waikiki for the second pickup to the Blowhole site then to Makapu'u Point. The Lighthouse and the view are breathtaking but the climb is steep. I'd suggest you do those hikes very early morning to avoid the excessive heat. The tour provides you with maps, guidance to the trails and water. You have 2 hours to complete each on your own.

The communication about pick up was not great. However, Tommy (tour bus driver) redeemed that experience. He is so knowledgeable and friendly. He made the rides enjoyable. He also gave recs for local restaurants and activities. Thanks, Tommy!

Our family of four took this tour, which is actually two separate hikes. The van picked us up across the street from our hotel at 6:00 in the morning. It transported us to Diamond head. The first tour guide was pleasant but did not give us much information. We were dropped at the base of the trail and told when to meet to leave. The hike itself is amazing and beautiful. Comfortable sneakers that can handle varied terrain is a must. People often come to the park on their own. There's also a trolley that travels the entire island. There's a souvenir shop at the base of the mountain. It is better to do it early in the morning. It is quite a strenuous hike and gets very warm. Once at the top, you feel as if you are at the top of the world. The second part of the tour was the lighthouse. Communication about transportation was not great. We were dropped off at a different hotel and told to wait for the next ride. The second driver arrived approximately 30 minutes later. He was much more interactive and gave us great history along the drive. The second part of the tour was equally as strenuous, though the road was paved. These hikes were a workout! But you can see so much of the beautiful nature that Hawaii enjoys. Both drivers offered water. Recommend going to the bathroom before going to the lighthouse, and there are no bathrooms available at the site.

I highly recommend both of these hikes if you visit O'ahu! Diamond Head requires reservations, so I appreciated that the tour did this for me, and drove me to the starting point. We had ample time to hike Diamond Head. There was a bit of a lag between the tours, with the first bus dropping us off at a location in Honolulu, and we had to wait about 20 mins for the second bus. The Lighthouse hike was incredible - best hike I've ever been on, and the tour guide even brought us home by way of the Blow Hole. I know a few people struggled doing both hikes, but it is manageable if you are in decent shape.
