It was a fantastic overall experience. The booking was easy. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. His friendliness and patience made for a great experience.

17-Mile Drive offers the ultimate experience to explore the peninsula. You will ride from our bike shop in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. Your guide will take you to all of the best spots in Pebble Beach. You'll pass iconic landmarks such as The Lodge at Pebble Beach, The Lone Cypress, Bird Rock, Point Joe, Spanish Bay, and Crocker Grove, which is home to the largest and oldest Cypress trees in existence. The minimum for a non-private tour to operate is 4 riders. We reserve the right to cancel the tour with full refunds, or convert you to a private guided tour (additional rates apply), or combine your booking with another at a different time and/or day, or convert the tour to a standard rental reservation (no tour guide, freedom of route and timing). As necessary, these options will be reviewed with the customer for their approval 24 hours before the reservation. For parties of 1 or greater than 10, with dogs or children, or any other special requests, please call to inquire and book.

Its coastline is made of Granite rocks formed 65 million years back and it gives this coastline a rugged look. The place had several shipwrecks in history due to its rocky shares and its location near to Monterey Bay. The place has ample parking and sitting benches to relax. There are several information boards to read about the place. About the origin of the name Point Joe, there is debate over that for years now. Some historians believe that there was a Chinese man who lived in a driftwood structure here in the early 1900's that sold goods to explorers. It is unclear whether Point Joe was named for the Chinese man or if the man was named after the location. We had a great experience with great friends, great views and a great guide! Leslie was awesome! Such a fun way to see the 17-mile drive! The motorized bikes made it effortless and fun!

Awesome experience! Price was affordable for what we got! Would do it again, 10/10! It was about 2hrs but we stopped, and as long as we all agreed we spent as long as we wanted. A awesome tour guide! One of the highlights of our trips!

The initial instructions by our guide were poor (I fell in trying to test my bike in a narrow alley). Also, there were too many people on our tour. My husband, an experienced cyclist, felt there were several dangerous intersections to cross.

The location of Mad Dogs & Englishmen Bike shop is right in the middle of everything in downtown Carmel, the staff was very friendly and helpful, we got our bikes and had an amazing experience riding through the beautiful beach scenery, Pebble Beach and ocean view. Would use them for sure next time we are back.
