We loved this show! It was being filmed for a TV special so it started late. But once it started it was nonstop amazement. He levitated, he disappeared people, and he did all kinds of other fun illusions. I am the type of person that LOVES a magic show, and I love to try and figure things out. (Spoiler- read the book Sleights of Mind: What the neuroscience of magic reveals about our brains, if you want to know how many illusions work). I was talking about and thinking about his show for days, trying to figure things out. I couldn’t, and that is the best kind of magic show!

I figured I'd give Criss Angel another chance after my previous 4 visits to his Amystika and MindFreak shows were in 2025, then 2022 and before. Somehow it feels like there are even fewer tricks now. I took my mom and husband last night. My mom said it felt like way too much filler in between tricks and that there was too much talking about his life rather than just doing magic. She also felt like the tricks were too similar, specifically multiple times people disappearing from under a sheet against a dark room or ceiling. Previously in 2022, I went to see Criss Angel Mindfreak with my husband and in-laws. I kept my purse in the hotel room safe and my dress didn't have pockets. When we were told to stand as the cast took their bows, but before the last trick, a security guard came up to me and asked me to open my phone, that had the screen off, to prove that I wasn't filming the show. I opened my phone up to show that it was my home screen. My phone was in my lap the whole show while sitting, but I have to hold it when standing. That experience left a bad taste in my mouth. In both 2022 and 2026 I felt like this show had a lot of filler in it and not many tricks, including a very lazy Mortal Combat fight scene where Criss wasn't even pretending to care to go through the motions every time I've come here. There is also a long spot about childhood cancer charities, which is a worthwhile cause, but it definitely takes you out of the having fun mood, to being emotional and weepy over seeing pictures of sick kids who have passed. Many of the acts in both 2022 and 2026 are the same as Amystika, including the trash-blowing fans and ladder walking. Luckily in 2026, they took out the trick of a guy who sets himself on fire (we took a vet to Amystika and he was triggered by that act as he saw people set on fire in Bosnia.) When we took my in-laws in 2022, My mother-in-law said a few times that it didn't look like the same guy when Criss Angel was supposed to disappear and reappear. We weren't in the front row. If my in-laws can figure out it's a lookalike in a wig, well... That should say something about this show. Every time I've been to a Criss Angel shows, his staff tells you they're filming every show to artificially get the audience to act more hyped than the acts warrant. Filming so that the audience can see Criss Angel swallow 3 razor blades on a string and pull them back out on stage is not the same as filming the show for TV. It's deceptive to guilt the audience into trying to be a good sport with lies about the show being filmed.

This show was genuinely appalling. A standing ovation means nothing when the performer demands the audience stand — and then proceeds to berate those who don’t. It was one of the most cringe-worthy moments I’ve ever experienced in a theatre. I paid to see a magic show. Rather than entertaining the audience with magic, Angel spent an extraordinary amount of time ranting: about how everyone steals his ideas, his charity work, how terrible other magicians on the Vegas strip supposedly are, and how amazing his next show is going to be: I didn’t pay to be at his next show! The self-congratulation was endless. At one point he even accused the Sphere’s Wizard of Oz production of ripping off his “effects” — apparently a wind machine and some flying paper now constitute intellectual property. There was very little magic, and what was there was constantly interrupted by rambling lectures and self-promotion. It felt less like a performance and more like being trapped with someone shouting about how important they think they are. I bought a cheap ticket and was “upgraded” to a premium seat — not because of generosity, but because the theatre, like the show, was half empty. If you want to see real magic in Vegas, go see Penn and Teller, Mat Franco, Piff or Copperfield.
If you want a performer ranting about himself and the industry while demanding applause, this is the show for you.

Very disappointing. Spent 75% of the time talking about himself rather than performing magic and tricks. We left early right before he launched into a self-proclaimed 13 minute video asking people for money to donate to pediatric cancer. I’m all for a good cause but we paid a lot of money to see what was essentially four magic tricks in the span of one hour, the rest was him bragging about himself.

Did very little illusions and all he did was talk about how he got into magic, I fell asleep 3 times! Very poor do not recommend
