The Mohkinstsis (MOH-kin-stiss) Winter Walking Tour is an authentic Indigenous walking tour of St. Patrick’s Island that provides guests with the opportunity to learn about local Indigenous history through cultural sharing with a local Indigenous guide. We share with our guests traditional ways of life, the history of Indigenous people in Calgary and how the Blackfoot people have overcome many barriers to once again thrive in their traditional territory.

The tour provides guests with the opportunity to connect with a local Indigenous guide in a winter outdoor setting that fosters learning and open dialogue. The tour is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the speed of the group. The trail is 2.5 kms and is a combination of paved trail and snow-covered gravel. We suggest warm clothes and comfortable footwear. During the tours we maintain physically distancing of 2 metres (6 feet) or more, and are in compliance with all COVID-19 guidelines as outlined by Alberta Health Services.
