Me and my wife came here on our honeymoon and it was incredibly amazing! Our guides Kai, and Cierra were both excellent! They knew the terrain and the horses very well! They paired everyone up with the horse that best suited them. The views were spectacular from the mountain top to the ocean overlook! Great experience, great views, great horses, and two great guides! Highly recommend!
Maui Mountain Activities offers horseback rides that take you up into the West Maui Mountains to view waterfalls (seasonal) from a distance, then down to the coastline to ride alongside the Pacific Ocean. Experience the tranquility of Maui's native rainforests and the beauty of its waters. There is a run spot where you can run your horse, if you want (weather permitting), and your guides will take photos of you with your camera along the way. Tour through the petting zoo and experience up close the many animals, which may include mini horses, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigs, and sheep. This is a 2 hour tour. Soft drinks are provided and complimentary.

- There will be a big yellow "Maui Mountain Activities Parking" sign on the left side of the road. The guide will arrive at 8am. Once all the guests arrive for the 8:15am check-in, the guide will lead all vehicles up to the ranch where the horses are located.

Stop At: 2644 Kahekili Hwy2644 Kahekili Highway, Wailuku, HI 96793AM Horseback ride is a 2-hour ride that goes gradually up the mountainside to view the waterfalls (seasonal) in the valley from a distance. Then ride down the mountainside all the way to the ocean where you will ride along the coastline (not white sand beach.) It was a scenic ride and low key. We had a chance to gallop if we wanted to— half of our group did it.
They gave us good instructions before riding. We rode for about 2 hours.

A must do on Maui. See the real island on the back o a horse. From jungle to sea. Well maintained hoses and safe.

We did this ride in November and it had rained recently. The owner was very nice and did offer to reschedule us or give us a refund as we could not go up the mountain.
Having done at least 10 or more commercial rides at various parks in various states, this was an average ride. The guides were very nice and the horses appeared healthy and in good condition.
Th ride down toward the ocean was pretty, and of course the ocean views were gorgeous!
The two concerns I had were:
1. Even with 2 wranglers, the group got pretty spread out. Add to that the fact that the horses are used to cantering/galloping at two points, even though we had elected NOT to canter due to trail conditions, I was concerned that some very inexperienced riders were moving faster than I was comfortable with (I am a previous riding instructor). I heard no complaints so it is possible that they were fine with it, I just know they really had no choice at the time.
2. My second "complaint" is that there really is no riding along the coast. There is a small field with a view of the ocean and an opening to take a photo. It just wasn't what I was expecting.
Overall we had a fun time so I still recommend this if you want to ride on Maui! Be aware that if there has been any rain it is VERY muddy and dress accordingly!

Cole and Ki were excellent guides. Due to weather, we werent able to go to the waterfall but did go down to the ocean and had a fantastic time. Mahalo for the great experience
