Maui Pineapple Farm Tour in Haliimaile

On our last day in Maui, my husband and I had some time before our flight, so we decided to take the Maui Pineapple Farm Tour. While the price initially seemed a bit steep, we were drawn in by the fact that each ticket included a TSA-ready boxed pineapple to take home. We arrived early and grabbed lunch at the restaurant next to the pineapple store, as recommended by the staff member who checked us in. We shared a buttermilk chicken sandwich and pineapple upside-down cake à la mode—and wow, were we in for a treat! The sandwich was perfectly crispy with juicy, flavorful chicken, topped with a tangy coleslaw that complemented it beautifully. I was so impressed I had to ask how they made it! Then came the pineapple upside-down cake with pineapple ice cream, which was absolutely fabulous. Despite the lunch rush, the staff remained attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The tour itself exceeded our expectations. Our driver was engaging and knowledgeable, taking us through the processing area before heading out to the pineapple fields. He taught us how to properly cut a pineapple and what to look for when selecting one—turns out, nearly everything I thought I knew about picking pineapples was wrong! I learned about evaluating color, weight, and where to smell the fruit to ensure it's perfectly ripe. The highlight was tasting the Maui Gold pineapple fresh from the field. I can honestly say it was the most flavorful pineapple I've ever had in my life! I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Maui. It was educational, delicious, and genuinely fun. We'd absolutely do it again!
