This was a fun thing to do on a beautiful day in Maui. Roy, the trip coordinator, was a font of local/historic information. The van of eight went up as far as we could (6800? feet? Not too chilly, but wear layers), then, at our own speed, we rode/coasted down to a meeting point and had to get back in the van for another stretch, then completed the ride back into Paia. Along the way, everyone could go where they wanted (Roy had recommendations) -- I stopped at the Maui War Veterans cemetery, the Hui No'eau Visual Arts, and had a delicious acai bowl at the Island Fresh Cafe. Definitely a great way to spend the morning.

We had an amazing experience coasting down Haleakala! From the start with the safety talk and fun historical stories about Maui on the ride up the mountain to zipping down the mountain on the bikes we had an amazing adventure! Special shout out to Mathias and Remy for making us feel safe and giving out tips for places to eat.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide Mattius did an excellent job providing us with the history of the area on the way up, recommendations for what to after the tour, and excellent instructions on how best to navigate the road on the way down the mountain. Maui Sunriders provided all of the necessary equipment. I would highly recommend the tour. The ride down the mountain was exhilarating.
