Ashley was knowledgable and super chill! The day had killer vibes and lunch was tasty! Our group had so much fun all day long! Recommend 20/10!

Castle Valley is the poster child for Western landscapes, and you’ve probably already seen it somewhere in a western, TV show, or a commercial or two. And if somehow you have, in fact, never laid eyes on Castle Valley before, you’re not going forget it once you do! This serene section of the Colorado River moseys through a big beautiful valley lined with monuments, before cutting through a towering red rock canyon that meanders back toward Moab. Along the way are some of Utah’s most impressive geologic features like Fisher Towers, Castleton Tower, the Priest and Nuns, and so on. As for the waters here along the Colorado River, it stays pretty warm from late spring to early fall. You’ll spend most of your time floating, with a few Class II rapids to cool you off along the way. Expect river games and stories, splash fights, and lots of fun interpretations from your guides on this mild trip!

Stop At: MoabMoab, UtahMeet us at our Moab Office and get ready for the river! After checking in and getting fitted for a life jacket, you'll shuttle out to Castle Valley with your guides. This incredibly scenic drive takes around 45 minutes to reach the most dramatic landscapes, so sit back and enjoy! At the boat launch you'll have a quick safety orientation before pushing off onto the Colorado River for the day. In between the Class II rapids, you’ll have plenty of time to take in the sights of Fisher Towers and other monuments of this spectacular area. Your guide will share plenty of fascinating history and fun stories as you float through the scenery. This trip is mostly flat water, so we’ll stop for swims and games along the way. Lunch is usually around noon on the beach. The last half of the trip comes with more rapid sections, which you’re free to sit back and enjoy, or paddle through with your guide. Excellent day on the water with Seth as our guide - he was just brilliant. We travelled with 2 adults and our four young children (11/9/8/6) and they loved the day. The paddling was fun, the rapids exciting, of course the scenery was absolutely stunning and all the swimming opportunities along the way were incredibly refreshing (and Seth did a great job hauling those of it that needed it - me - back into the boat when required!). We witnessed a bonus heroic rescue of another M2W raft that had got stuck on rocks - Seth borrowed a kayak from another group and paddled out to help free them. The kids found this super exciting! Lunch was tasty and filling, weather perfect and the whole experience was five star. Communication throughout was prompt and informative. We’d definitely use Mild to Wild again! Big thank you to Seth!!!! His dry humour was fab. (And do wear a hat and sunscreen - we had both including factor 50 and still got slightly pink cheeks and thighs!)
