Stop At: Monticello1050 Monticello Loop, Charlottesville, VA 22902The 2 1/2 hour drive from the DC Metro area to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello is a graceful transition from the capital area to Virginia’s rolling countryside. As monuments give way to pastoral landscapes and Blue Ridge foothills, the journey sets a peaceful, scenic tone for your visit to Jefferson’s mountaintop home. Upon arrival, you will have tickets to enter and you will have a tour scheduled to see inside the home, led by an onsite tour guide. If you would like, there is an 8 minute introductory film to view upon arrival. In addition, you will have the opportunity to take a 45 minute tour of the Gardens and Grounds Tour (not prescheduled), and the Slavery at Monticello Tour (not prescheduled). You may visit Jefferson's grave, as well as the burial ground for enslaved people. There is an on site cafe. This tour is customizable.Duration: 10 hoursAdditional Information
