Our guide, THE BOSS LADY AMELIA Bedelia of raft 1 and Lyla guide of raft 2 were fantastic, and made The trip enjoyable. The water was super low, and they had to push or pull our rafts off of the rocks in the water the majority of the time. It was perfect for young kids who are beginners. I would highly recommend both of these guides, but would also recommend doing the upper Animas of the water is at the level.

Rafting the Animas River is consistently rated as one of the highlights of visitors vacationing in Durango, Colorado.  Enjoy a safe and fun Animas River raft trip in the company of a professional guide. The family-friendly Class I, II & III rapids are enough action to engage novices without being intimidating. Kid-tested and mom-approved since 1981.

River was real low….the 1/2 day float trip lasted one hour. From 12:00 to 1:00pm. The crew should have told us our 1/2 day trip would only last an hour or more… but they didn’t. I’m not sure how far we went but it couldn’t have been more than a mile or two! Very disappointing and very OVER PRICED.?

Even though the river was low, still an enjoyable day. It was hot and dry, and would have been nice to have water on board to keep us hydrated. We stopped twice and got out of the raft, and this would have been the perfect time to situate someone with water and maybe a granola bar, just to keep up our energy. Just a little something to make the trip stand out from the crowd. Trip was finished an hour early, not the 4 1/2 hours as advertised.

It was great for beginners. The guides kept us safe while learning the basics of rafting along with optional fun slides in the water. We used our muscles.
