We rode in a heated van. It was a ‘day of’ booking, as our day to walk around the city, turned rainy & cold. They were so sweet to accommodate us, and it was much appreciated. We got to tour fun parts of the city we wouldn’t have gotten to on foot, plus got to try hot chicken barbecue, sweets etc. Really enjoyed it.

Really fun afternoon exploring Nashville. Evan was a fun and knowledgeable tour guide he gave us other fun local places to check out during our week visit. Would definitely do this again!

Our tour guide Scott was super informative! Had a great time trying different local food spots and getting the history! Now I know where the term “railroaded” comes from, the history of hush puppies, and the first person to do the slam dunk! Lots of cool tidbits in this tour, he knows his stuff!

There were 8 of us traveling to Nashville for the first time from PA and FL, respectively. My husband and I like to take food tours everywhere we travel and have had some great experiences along the way. When searching for a tour in Nashville, I came upon this tour and the reviews were all rave reviews, and rightfully so. The tour operator, Scott, met us right where the instructions said he would. It was cold (at least for us Floridians - 39 to 41 degrees), so we and the others were so glad to learn that we would be taking the tour in a van. The van comfortably fit the 8 of us, along with 5 others. This tour was STUPENDOUS! Scott was one of the most knowledgeable tour guides, providing very interesting information about Nashville, in general, and about other sights we passed along the way. Our first stop was at a donut shop; we had mini donuts and a cranberry mimosa, both were yummy. We then toured the town for a while, and eventually stopped at Martin's barbeque. I am not a great fan of barbeque, but this one changed my mind. We had brisket, ribs and a hush puppy. The meat was delicious, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone. We drove around and learned more about Nashville and then stopped and got Red's Nashville hot chicken and ate it next door in the oldest speak easy in the country - what a treat. We later ended up at a chocolate shop - one of the best chocolates I have ever had. The tour finished up at the distillery we started out at; we got to taste several whiskeys, some flavored, some not. Again, I am not a fan of whiskey, but they had a chocolate whiskey that was fantastic. Although I had limited room in my carryon luggage, I just had to buy a small bottle of the chocolate whiskey to bring home; I so look forward to adding it to my hot chocolate (it does get cool enough in Florida in December and January to warrant hot chocolate). Again, Scott was a fantastic tour guide; his knowledge of Nashville, in general, was awesome. However, it was his personal knowledge of the music scene in Nashville that put a giant gold star on the top of this tour. When Scott learned that we were going to the Ryman the night of our tour to see the Mavericks (our friends follow this band), he gave us an invaluable inside tip. He told us that many of the performers at the Ryman sneak out the back door of the Ryman after their shows, walk across the alley, and enter Robert's Western World bar from the rear entrance. Scott also told us that most times, these performers will get on the stage at Robert's and perform. So, after seeing a fantastic show at the Ryman, we headed to Robert's. The place was PACKED. We wove our way through the crowd on the first floor and headed upstairs to see if there was anywhere we could find a place for 6 of us to sit (2 went back to the hotel - party poopers ;>). We walked all the way to the back of the bar upstairs and, miraculously, a group was just getting up from a small table in the back corner. We grabbed it and sat down; we were only 3 feet from the back entrance. Sure enough, after about 15 minutes, one by one the performers we had just seen came through the back door. They all stopped to talk to us on the way by! We were like star-struck groupies and would never had had this experience if it weren't for Scott! I cannot say enough good things about Scott and this tour. If you do nothing else when you come to Nashville, you MUST take this tour!
