I have family that have hand sewn quilts, and I have a great appreciation. I have also made a couple of simple lap quilts. This was on our way from southern Illinois to Nashville and we thought we’d give it a try. Student admission was only 5.00, and my boyfriend got in free for the month of November as a veteran. The price was right and the quilts were amazing. We experienced everything from “art” and functional quilts to tiny quilts for miniature beds. There was something for everyone with an appreciation for detail and creativity. I would recommend for a couple hr break in your travels.

Absolutely worth the trip - lovely grounds, building and the exhibited quilts are breathtaking and inspirational. My husband equally was impressed with the collection.

Anyone who appreciates the art of quilting will enjoy this museum. It houses some incredible pieces from all across the country. The colors, designs and intricate stitch work are awe inspiring. There are four galleries which house different exhibits of various themes. It takes about an hour to go through. This museum is a hidden gem and definately worth the stop!
