This walking tour of the New Orleans Garden District is perfect for those who appreciate beautiful neighborhoods, classic architecture and learning about historic landmarks. Many sites on the tour come with interesting backstories.
My tour guide Wesley was friendly and knowledgeable, making the tour even more fun. It’s perfect for small groups or solo travelers. Surprisingly my booking was honored despite being the only one scheduled for the tour. Most tours will cancel if they don’t book a minimum number of guests.
Be prepared to sweat if you take the tour during the Summer but you’ll find some relief as most of the tour takes you along beautiful tree lined streets with lots of shade. Also, I’d recommend wearing comfortable shoes. You’ll have to watch where you step in certain areas because many of the cobblestone sidewalks are very loose and uneven from the root systems of large trees.
Overall this was a great tour and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a fun yet quiet tourist activity to do.
